Let’s Talk Blogging

Today, I’m taking a break from following P. Bradley Robb’s posts on the next decade of publishing (we’ll get back to it tomorrow). Instead, we’re talking blogging. I’m starting the conversation by posting over on Sylvia Dickey Smith Books.

Sylvia asked if I’d post about my blogging experience and what I’ve learned since I started blogging back in 2006. So, I’m talking about how I started and some things I see as ways to increase your own blog participation.

I have to say that I see all of you who stop by Straight From Hel as participants and friends. You are the reason I keep posting every day. You all (or y’all as we say in Texas) make it fun and a learning experience for me.

So, if you have time, click over to Sylvia’s blog (and check out her website; she’s a great author) and share your own ideas on blogging. See you there!

  7. Hi Helen! That was a great post. I've read several today that are concentrating on what makes a good blog and how to generate more followers. Seems to be theme for the new year :)

    Happy Thursday,

  8. Jen, that's because there is a group of us who are aliens and we think on the same wavelength. We had a doozy planned for around Valentine's, but the mother ship has recalled us for a defective part. Turns out we weren't supposed to be blogging. Our assignment was jogging.

  17. Hey, Mason, I even know how to spell it. I've seen folks spell it ya'll, which Southerners know is incorrect.

    Howdy!

  19. Hi Helen,

Great blog entry about blogging. Excellent tips. I tried to write my posts in advance when I first started blogging, but I work better under pressure.

I only blog 2 times a week. Do you think this is too little?

    Thanks,

    Jenn
