I'm not a Math person, I admit. But here are the stats for the recent 3
day giveaway of Angel Sometimes. Angel was free for three days, July 27th,
28th and 29th.
Somehow, I'm not sure how, Angel Sometimes always seems to be listed
with these category/tag words:
Kindle Store
> Kindle eBooks > Fiction > Genre Fiction > Mystery & Thrillers
> Thrillers > Suspense
So…with
those tag words, here are the stats:
7/27/12:
About 2
p.m.: #73
About 6
p.m.: #43
About 10:30
p.m.: #36
7/28/12:
About 5:30
p.m.: #25
About 7
p.m.: #22
About 8
p.m.: #21
7/29/12:
About 7:30
a.m.: #17
About 1
p.m.: #18
As far as I
can tell, it never made the Top 100 Free in Kindle Store.
Frankly, I'm
not sure how important it is to know the stats. Interesting, though. One thing you can deduce from these stats is that I'm not real good at remembering to check them.
Good going, Helen! Glad you're getting the recognition you deserve!

#17 is good though! I've learned to be better about checking my stats.
ReplyDeleteIt can drive you crazy to keep checking them.
ReplyDeleteI think I've used up my free days. I believe you get 5 over a three month period. And I've used 5.
ReplyDeleteIf I do KDP Select again, I'll try to be more diligent in checking.
Those sound like great numbers to me! I never check my blog stats, so I'm pretty sure I'd never remember to check them either! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's got a good beat and was easy to dance to.
ReplyDeleteIt's always exciting to get into the top 100. I'm glad you are getting some traffic. I've downloaded Angel Sometimes to my PC (still don't have a Kindle) and will post a review for you.
ReplyDeleteAnn
sounds great to me. I loved the book and spread the word. Hope those who got it for free, enjoy it, and spread the word too.
ReplyDeleteGood luck and as long as you are proud of your book and having fun with it - what are numbers? (well, unless it's your total meal ticket - then you should check early and often)
It'd be nice if someday my books were my meal ticket, but that day is not visible on the horizon, so I'll just enjoy seeing them online and knowing that people are reading Angel Sometimes. And the majority of them like her!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on having your book do so well, and I am glad you are enjoying the whole process. I think there is a lot more enjoyment of crunching numbers when it is your first book. (smile)
ReplyDeleteFor a long time I was obsessed with checking stats on my books - when they were free and even when they weren't. I realized I was spending way too much time and energy trying to figure out the rhyme or reason behind surges or dips. No rhyme or reason as far as I can tell.
