I invite you all to come meet Lisa J. Jackson. She's one of the editors
at Story Circle Network's Editorial Services. And today, she's posting over on
The Blood-Red Pencil.
She's talking about spelling and how she fell in love with words.
I love how she started her post:
I loved it when I started learning how to spell as a kid. Spelling expanded a world I only knew visually and verbally into layers. Each new word was a precious stone added to my life’s treasure chest.
Come over and read her delightful post and then tell her which words
you fell in love with. Or maybe you have a favorite word you'd like post in the comments section.
Thanks, Helen. I had fun writing the post. :) I should have mentioned my Lisa Haselton pseudonym in my bio, though! Lisa J. Jackson is also known as Lisa Haselton (which I use for a Blogger account). :)
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa. Speaking of words, you could do a post sometime on how you decided on your pseudonym.
ReplyDeleteAntidisestablishmentarianism is still one of my favorites! And no, I won't ever use it in one of my books.
ReplyDeleteOh, come on, Alex! You could fit it in. No? Then use it as part of your signature when you sign books.
DeleteI like the word sublime.
ReplyDeleteIndeed - spelling opened up a whole new world as a kid
Sublime is a good word, Joanne, although, for me, it doesn't conjure up a sublime image when I say it.
DeleteI'll hop on over and take a look.
