The company is Studentreasures Publishing. They have free student publishing programs that “enable students to write, illustrate, and publish full-color, hardbound books.”
Since 1994, more than 300,000 teachers from over 15,000 schools have participated in the Studentreasures publishing program. How about that! If you like, click over and read the press release.
What an outstanding program! If only this technology were available when I was so much younger.
ReplyDeleteThat's amazing!
ReplyDeleteThat's incredible!
ReplyDeleteI agree, Mary. How cool would it have been to have a book with your name on it!
ReplyDeleteHmm. I wonder if my daughter's elementary school would be interested in hearing about this company. We have volunteers to create hardcover books for the Kids Write program at our school. This would sure be easier on the typists, sewers, binders, and coordinators (says Elizabeth, who has been a typist for the program for the past 9 years...)
ReplyDeleteThat's a great service!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you need to check this program, Elizabeth.
ReplyDeleteIt is, isn't it, Diane. Getting kids really interested in books by getting them involved in the whole process.
What a really cool idea! I'll have to check it out :)
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like an excellent program.
ReplyDeleteCertainly sounds good! I just sent a link to the site to all the teachers at the elementary school where I teach. I want to check into it some more to see if artwork could be included (since I teach art). I know my students would love to see their work in print.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing!

Hope it works for you and it's something you and your school can become a part of, Mary.
ReplyDeleteThat's cool! What a boost for students confidence. A great way to fund raise for charities and schools. Imagine getting your child's book for father's day!
ReplyDeleteThat's very cool, but how the heck do they stay afloat?

Thanks for all the great comments about our free student publishing program! We are very proud of that fact that we have been able to give away over 4 million free books to students and schools across the U.S.
