Stephen Tremp gave me the Meat and Potatoes Award. Yay! Dinner tonight - no cooking! Oh wait, I just read the fine print. There’s no actually meat and potatoes, but there is this:
This prestigious award goes to a particular group of wise and experienced bloggers who have proven themselves over the course of time, trials, and tribulations.
Stephen gave it to five bloggers and I am very honored to be in his group since I would definitely recommend the other four.

I’m going to pass on the Meat and Potatoes Award to:

Alex J. Cavanaugh

Jane Kennedy Sutton

Sia McKye

J.M. Strother

Glynis Smy

All 5 of these bloggers are exerienced and wise and wonderful to follow. Zip over and leave them a shout-out.

And Alex, Jane, Sia, J.M., and Glynis, you can have all the Meat and Potatoes you want, but go easy on those green beans!

  10. I'm with you, now wouldn't THAT be an Award, a real meat and potatoes dinner! No cooking that night ... sigh.

Much congrats on your Award Helen :)

  11. Wow, for a minute there I was getting hungry :)

  12. Thank you all. I am slow to get to visiting y'all because my laptop has died. It was fine when I shut down last night and now won't boot up. Grr! We now have two computers out of service in the house! If I have to buy a new one, I'm seriously considering leaving Microsft and going to Apple.

  13. A lot of my friends have bought a MAC. Not ready for that one, lol! But it IS PITA (pain in the a$$).

Congratulations Helen. Blog awarder is correct. You serve up more than fluff here.

Thanks for shout out and the award. I'm touched.

I'll take the steak and surely there are enough Green Beans to share a bit?

  14. Sia, there are actually plenty of green beans! They replenish automatically.

  15. Really? Experienced and wise? Thanks, Helen, although I might refute that statement!

  19. I believe I've said it before, but I'll say it again - you deserve every award you get, Helen. You're a terrific blogger. Your warmth and sincerity always shows through.

Thank you so much for the shout out. Much appreciated.

I don't want to bum you out, but the exact same thing happened to my laptop last year. It never came back. I paid $80 to find out it was unrepairable. The mother board went south. Hope you have better luck than I did.

    Thanks again for the award.

  20. Awesome! Spread the love around. And the sour cream while you're at it for the potatoes. Personally, I can't stand sour cream and wonder why it has an expiration date. But I understand others like it. So Bon Apetit.

  21. I know I visit your blog to pick up some wisdom. You earned it.

  22. All of you are smart and sweet as all get-out, and funny to boot.

Just dropped off my laptop with the nerd herd. They couldn't get it to boot up either and said it'd take four days to get back to me with a diagnosis. My son's gone to the lake, so I'm using his. I feel like a baby crying, I want my stuff!

  23. Thank you, Helen and congratulations to you, too! It’s so nice to be thought of in this context. I like meat, but potatoes prepared in any manner always make me one happy person! You mentioned a couple of blogs I’m not familiar with, so I’m on my way to visit them.

  24. Oh, wow! Thank you so much Helen.

You deserved the award, your support and wise words are appreciated.

I do hope you get your techno baby sorted out. :)

  25. Congrats! I always love coming to see what you're serving up.

    Meat and potatoes today? Alrighty.

I'll add some nice light fruit salad to the repast cuz it's mug city in my part of the world. But even when it's sweltering outside I find that there's always room for fruit salad. Or chocolate pudding. Ok, scratch the fruit salad, I've added chocolate pudding to the meal instead. The nice thing about having lots of pudding at a party is if things slow down we could always wrestle in it.

Putting Jon Strother on your list of awardees was a stroke of brilliance.

  26. Well deserved Helen! Wish that COULD be dinner...

  27. Kudos, and good list to pass it on to. I'm a meat and potatos guy, too ... but also love my vegetables, lol.

  28. Karen, I love the idea of a salad. I'm making a Corn and Blueberry Salad right now. I've cooked the corn and am letting it cool, then I'll get it all ready and refrigerate for tomorrow.

  29. Congrats on the award - too bad it doens't come with actual steak!

About the pic - thanks for tkaing the time to answer my question. I didn't mean my profile pic, though.

When you follow a blog, you get a list of updates on your dashboard. I can see the twitter logo with all of your posts, but nobody can see the pic I put on my blogs in that feed.

How do you get the Twitter logo to show up in that feed?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Jenn, I'm not sure if I'm understanding what you're asking. If you're asking about the little Tweet It widgit I put at the end of each post, I could tell you where I got it if my computer hadn't crashed. If I get it back up and running, I'll try to find the info.

    Or:

As far as pics showing up in your Twitter feed, I don't know how to do that. Anyone know?
