The time has come to volunteer for the 13th annual Texas Book Festival November 1-2, 2008, to be held on the capital grounds in Austin, Texas.
To volunteer, go to the TBF Volunteer page, where you’ll find information on all the different opportunities, job descriptions and shifts available.
The Festival is a huge, multi-day event. And it takes over 500 volunteers to pull it off! You can be one of those volunteers and still have plenty of time to see wonderful authors, visit interesting vendors and get books autographed.
Don’t wait too long to sign up for a shift (or two). I’m Chair of the events that take place at the Austin Museum of Art. We host authors, photographers and artists who talk about their books and work and show slides and answer questions. Plus, you don’t have to find your way to the signing tent if you want a book, since all our speakers sign right there at the museum. Last year, Bill Whittliff drew a standing room only crowd that did not want to leave. But if you want to volunteer for AMOA, do it soon. Last year, AMOA was the first to fill all our volunteer slots.
I’d love for you to volunteer at AMOA, but would be just as happy for you to volunteer for some other place at the Festival (just stop by AMOA to say hi to me!).
It’s going to be a great event.
