Fellowships for Writers

The deadline is coming soon for writers to apply for a fellowship to the Vermont Studio Center. Several years ago, I was awarded a fellowship and spent four weeks there. It was a great experience and I got a lot of writing done, met fellow authors, and had a wonderful experience. There's still time to apply.
The Vermont Studio Center has announced the following fellowship opportunities for writers:
Zoland Poetry Fellowships Two awards, based entirely on merit: One fellowship open to all poets; one fellowship open to all fiction writers.
Helen Zell Residency Fellowships Two fellowships for Helen Zell Writers’ Program candidates in poetry between their first and second year in the MFA program at the University of Michigan.
The Association of Literary Scholars, Critics, and Writers (ALSCW) Fellowship One fellowship for a writer who is a current member of ALSCW.
Ohio Arts Council Fellowship One fellowship for a writer who is a recent recipient of an OAC Individual Excellence Award. This award includes an $800 stipend.
These are just a few of the 43 fellowships available at our February 15th deadline--including 25 merit-based fellowships open to all artists and writers anywhere in the world. Learn about all of our current fellowship opportunities at
www.vermontstudiocenter.org/fellowships.
Each month, the Vermont Studio Center hosts a diverse international community of 50 artists and writers for 2- to 12-week residencies.
Applications must be received by February 15th, 2014.
