Political Suicide by Michael Palmer is one of
Palmer's 18 books, 17 of them being medical suspense. This one stars Dr. Lou
Welcome, but is a political suspense. Lou's friendship with fellow doctor, Dr.
Gary McHugh, gets him caught up in murder, high-level military conspiracy, and
the possibility of losing his own life in his determination to save his friend.
What starts out as Lou trying to help a friend quickly turns
into a race to save his own life, as well as the lives of many others,
including the very people trying to kill him. The action moves at a whiplash
pace. Each move that Lou makes seems to bring him closer to the megalomaniac
out to rule the world, or at least the men under and around him.
Lou will have to do things and go places he's never done or
gone before. He'll have to use his brain in areas having very little to do with
medicine, discover he has brawn, and do things he never would have imagined he
could do.
If you like fast-paced, action filled, the average man must
save the world books, then you'll like Political Suicide by Michael Palmer.
I give Political Suicide a rating of Hel-of-a-Plot

Disclaimer: This book was sent to me by Michael Palmer's
Marketing Manager. That in no way influenced my review. Even though I'm sure
this book was written long ago, it seems to fit perfectly in with these
political times and discontents.
I hadn't heard of this author, but 18 books - I might have to check out his thrillers. Sound like fun reads.
ReplyDeleteThis is the first I've read in his series, but I believe all his books have been hits, Joanne.
DeleteHelen, just wanted to thank you again for the blurb you provided for my book. It finally came out this week!
ReplyDeleteYay! Everybody, check out Diane's latest book: How to Publish and Promote Your Book Now! It's a very helpful book with tons of links. You can get it in paperback or e-version.
DeleteI've read a couple of Michael Palmer's books but it's been years. Now I want to dive back into them again!
ReplyDeleteThis was my first one of his, Laura. With as many books out that he has, you would have thought I'd heard of him before now!
ReplyDeleteI haven't read a medical thriller for a long time. For some reason they scare me more than other crime novels. I've heard Palmer's books are good.
ReplyDeleteI think medical thrillers are scarier because you can think, wow, this could happen to me, but very few of us would ever get involved in some deadly political situation.
DeleteI read one of his books years ago and I'm not sure why I haven't read any more because I really liked the suspense. I'll look out for this one.
ReplyDeleteAnn
