I’ve never participated in NaNoWriMo, but this will be my second year to take part in NaBloWriMo - National Blog Writing Month. I believe the only rule is to blog every day for the month of October.
There’s even a NaBloWriMo site where the participating bloggers are tracked. You can join, if you like. If you miss a day, you don’t get kicked off and no one comes after you with a sword. Just do a make-up blog.
I like to use NaBloWriMo to find new blogs and to get to know other bloggers. If you want to participate, go to the NaBloWriMo blog. You’ll find an address in the sidebar. Email Amy (or theoldecrone) and tell her you want to sign on. Do it today, though. We start tomorrow.

Ooh, interesting. thanks for the link.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I have too much going on next month to dive into this challenge, but will plan to visit the site to check out some of the other particpating bloggers.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I didn't know about this! Thanks for sharing. I blog every day, anyway, and it would be nice to participate. :)

Mystery Writing is Murder
That's interesting. Thanks for the link!
ReplyDeleteThat's how I feel, Elizabeth.
ReplyDeleteHelen, thanks so much for the link and sharing. I blog daily, so why not?
ReplyDeleteOoo... neat. I'll check out the other bloggers, but I'm pretty sure if I try to blog more than three times a week, my head will explode.
ReplyDeleteLOL. I'm with Mariam, especially this month. I am in a play that opens Oct 8th and runs two weekends, plus it is one of the busiest months here in my small town and I have lots of stories to cover. More than my head would explode if I added another challenge this month. :-)
ReplyDeleteIt seems a really good way for writers looking to really concentrate on writing something every day, committing to the page, to themselves and to others. A fun way, too!
ReplyDeleteI admire all of you who blog daily. I'm pleased I manage to do five blogs a week! I shall follow all of you through October with interest.

Too bad there's not a prize for this, (beside "bragging rights" as their web site points out). You'd win hands down, Helen. You are a prolific and quality blogger. Just from curiosity, when's the last time you DID miss a day?
ReplyDeleteBest Regards, Galen
Imagineering Fiction Blog
Hey! I think I can do this! Thanks for the Heads Up, Helen!
ReplyDeleteGalen, I don't know the answer to that. I think (but am not positive) that I've blogged every day for at least a year. I tend to start something and stick with it, which explains how after starting a weekly e-newsletter for writers ten years ago I'm still sending it out.
ReplyDeleteYou're a remarkable gal, Helen. A year is quite a time span to put up quality posts day-after-day. I've cut back my blog to MWF, just so I don't post junk. Good work.
ReplyDeleteGalen
Sounds interesting. I'm still stalled at around 3 posts a week, so maybe it would give me a boost. But there again, I've got kids visiting later this month. I know I'd never make it.
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat, Sheila. Have fun.
ReplyDeleteI'll be participating but as always, I just sign up and do it mostly on my own...well, along with all you guys over here, obviously!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your blog challenge, Helen! I did that back in January. It was hard but certainly jump-started the blog post ideas.
ReplyDeleteI'm on the road most Saturdays, so that's always my skip day - but I think six days a week is good!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know about the other 'mo's. :) I'm jumping in for NaNoWriMo again this year.
ReplyDeleteGalen,
ReplyDeleteI am a woman of limited means. If I can muster up a small prize, I'll do it, but this is just a personal endeavor, made public.
Thanks for joining, Helen!
Hey, Blogger Grrl. Personally, I think the prize is knowing you got through blogging every day and making new online friends.
ReplyDeleteActually, that's one of the reasons I joined too. I'm nervous about posting each day, but I figured it would be a good way to meet new bloggers ~ with the same goal. We're in it together! Looking forward to reading more about your blog!
ReplyDeleteHi Aleta. I'm trying to visit at least 5 NaBloWriMo bloggers each day. Thanks for stopping by!
ReplyDeleteNeat idea, but I think I've already bitten of enough with the #fridayflash and upcoming NaNo.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of NaNo, et al, I think it high time for them to change their names. All these efforts know no boundaries - they are international in scope. They should rechristen these things Wo for World to take the place of Na for National.
Good luck on your daily blogging!
