Stephenie Meyer is back on top of the best selling list - USA Today’s list anyway. She got temporarily dethroned a while back by Rick Riordan’s YA series.
According to USA Today, she holds the top four positions this week, followed by Dan Brown’s Angels & Demons (most likely boosted by the movie). In sixth place is another movie-boosted book: My Sister’s Keeper by Jodi Picoult. Number seven is from a favorite author of mine, Lee Child with his latest in the Jack Reacher series, Gone Tomorrow.
Rick Riordan is hanging in at number 8 with Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Last Olympian.

I saw my favorite mystery/suspense/thriller author, Jeffery Deaver on there at 74. My wife and oldest daughter are big Nora Roberts fans, and she has several in the top 100 - as usual. I see Glenn Beck has a book out now, too - in the top 50.
ReplyDeleteOne day .... one day, I'm gonna make that list.

The top 4! Wow. I guess I really need to read one of Meyer's books to see what I'm missing.

My husband LOVES Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child, and they are at #23!
ReplyDeleteNone of my favorite authors were on the list, although I do own Malcolm Gladwell's The Tipping Point at #131.

My husband is reading Lincoln Child's latest right now. I'll probably read it after he finishes - or at least, it'll go on my To Be Read pile.
ReplyDeleteI loved My Sister's Keeper -- Had no idea it was turning into a movie! Wonder how they'll get a movie out of that...
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Dr. Seuss is there. Other than that, there's nobody I'm currently reading. i must be out of step.
ReplyDeleteMark, there are a lot of lists out there, so your favorites may be on one of the others.
ReplyDeleteI was surprised to find one of my favorites, Alexander McCall Smith, in last position on the list. I love the titles of his books, especially this one: Tea Time for the Traditionally Build. In Botswana that means pleasing plump. :)
ReplyDeleteWell, dang, Jean. You gotta love a title like that!
ReplyDeleteThe movie for My Sisters Keeper looks good. Hopefully I will see angels & Demons over the weekend... still have the book in the to be read pile though. Oh well. I haven't read any of the Twilight series yet either. I better start reading the stuff on my shelf!!!
ReplyDeleteNancy, from Just a Thought…
Nancy, I so empathize with you. My TBR pile seems to get taller, not shorter.
ReplyDeleteThank you, thank you, for telling us a new Jack Reacher is available. How could I be so out of touch?

Glad to see The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society made the top ten (barely). Most delightful book I've read in years. My Sister's Keeper is very good too, but she cuts out your heart and stomps on it in the end.
ReplyDeleteI've not read a Meyer yet. Not sure I ever will. Someone I trust implicitly on these matters (my wife) has warned me off.
