Now, you may be wondering why I would offer a site called Candid Canine as a blog worth bookmarking for writers. You probably think it’s about dogs, don’t you?
Well, you’d be right – and wrong. There is a bit of dog in this blog, but what really dominates the conversation is miniatures. Christine Verstraete makes them, talks about them, introduces you to others who make miniatures.
Can you think of why it might be valuable to bookmark such a blog? Think of ways miniatures could be used in a plot. Remember CSI and its long-running miniature serial killer? Can you think of a storyline involving miniatures for your romance novel? How about for a horror novel – now there’s one to consider!
So I say, visit this blog. Soak up her posts. Get ideas for your work. You might even want to take a look at her YA book staring the candid canine in her title. And bookmark it so you’ll have it handy when a miniature idea turns into a blockbuster.
